Brand Protection Consulting & Investigative Services (BPCIS) was established by Brandon Scott in May of 2009 after 20 years of working in-house investigations for both big box and specialty retailers with management positions in security, loss prevention and brand protection. This extensive investigative background involved cases of internal/external theft, credit card and internet fraud, organized retail crime, cargo and supply chain thefts, trade secret thefts as well as counterfeiting and diversion cases. The last 4½ in-house years were spent managing the Brand Protection Department for Ohio based Abercrombie & Fitch. This position included the development and implementation of the company’s global anti-counterfeiting programs as well as the responsibility for managing all IPR investigations throughout the Americas and on the internet. This work provided hands on experience with criminal & civil seizures, cease and desist programs, internet investigations, internal & external training programs, market surveys and factory and human rights audits. It also provided valuable international travel experience that allowed for the personal vetting and establishment of a trusted worldwide network of IP professionals including attorneys, law enforcement officials and other investigators.
